Solar Panels Work In All Weather Conditions
HOW SOLAR SYSTEMS WORK
1. Sunshine = Electricity
When sunshine hits a solar panel, the solar cells that make up the panel transform light into direct current (DC) electricity. This is known as the photovoltaic effect.
2. Raw Electricity Into Energy
An inverter turns direct current (DC) electricity made by the panels into the alternating current (AC) electricity that your home needs. Enphase Microinverters do this at each panel, ensuring you get more power from the same panels than other types of inverters.
3. Your Solar Energy Powers The Grid
The solar energy your home creates powers your family’s electrical usage. When the sun is not providing any power for your panels (at night for example), your utility provides you with electricity. During the day, if your system is creating more power than your home needs, the extra energy goes into your utility’s power grid.
